I understand that life brings many challenges, both from the past and in the present. Like most people, I have experienced life challenges and so, in 2016, I decided to train in the profession which has helped me to better understand myself and make more positive choices.
As an 'attachment focussed'. relational therapist, I care deeply about my clients and, together, we will explore areas of your life that are causing difficulty or conflict. My hope is that you will feel truly seen and heard. I will listen, support, share reflections and observations and sometimes offer gentle challenge. It can take time to develop trust and a strong bond, and I will do my utmost to provide an environment where this is possible. When you feel safe and secure in our relationship, the work deepens and the outcomes can be life-changing.
In all my career choices, relationships have been central, be it with colleagues, customers or clients. This has never been more true than in my work as a therapist.
I work in person and online from my peaceful therapy room in Great Bookham, just behind the high street. It is easily accessible from Leatherhead, Cobham, the A3 and M25. My hope is that the space feels welcoming, warm and safe.

A common aim for therapy is to reach a place of understanding and accepting ourselves more fully, and feeling empowered to make choices that have a positive impact on our wellbeing and happiness. I adapt the way I work to best suit your individual needs, using different theoretical approaches in practice. If it is helpful in exploring feelings and experiences, we may also work creatively: through writing, poetry, art or music.
I believe that the quality of past relationships, particularly with primary caregivers, has an impact on the people we are today and the choices we make.
I also hold the relationship between 'you and me' i.e. between therapist and client, as the foundation for our work together. It is key that you feel truly seen, heard and accepted, without judgement, for who you are, in all your uniqueness.
The most important 'qualification' when choosing the right therapist is how you feel. I offer an initial online or in person chat, to see if we are a good 'fit' to work together.

I hold an advanced Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and have over one thousand hours' of client experience. I am a registered accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), working towards Professional Accreditation to reflect my experience.
Previously, I worked in a low cost counselling service and as a Primary School counsellor with children aged 5-11 years.
I have a practice in Godalming on Tuesday evenings and a home-based practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I also work online with clients around the country. Therapy can be short or longer term and I can help with a range of difficulties and challenges - including (but not limited to): abuse,
anxiety, anger and conflict, bereavement (grief and loss), depression, divorce, family problems, infertility and miscarriage, 'later life', low self confidence, low mood, relationship and/or friendship difficulties and trauma.

"I can't quite believe I get to feel like this now, and live this way, feeling genuinely empowered and free...
Between us, we manifested a life for me that I couldn't even imagine. I feel alive in a way I never thought possible for me, and it feels amazing."
K, Surrey.
